Extension of closing date: Bids are hereby invited for the following: Appointment of a project management team for the management of medico-legal matters in the provinces for a period of three (3) years. Scope of work: The Project Management Team (Team) is aimed at assisting the departments with the prevention and management of medico legal cases. In this regard, the Team will be responsible for the following: (a) Development of a medico-legal Framework for management of existing and future medico-legal cases respectively, to ensure that the Department has a bird’s eye view on the management of Medico-Legal cases by Provinces, and to ensure uniformity in the handling of the cases; (b) Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the medico-legal Framework for management of existing and future medico-legal cases by Provinces and recommend strategic interventions; (c) Facilitate the provision of expert opinions to provinces and department, where necessary; (d) Conduct analytics on medico-legal cases referred to the provincial departments for handling and investigation; (e) Assist with compiling an acceptable and reliable evidence for challenging legal actions related to medico-legal cases; (f) Conduct analysis of new/developing and existing trends of fraud and corruption related to medico-legal cases with the provincial departments; (g) Develop and implement Alternative Dispute Resolution and/or a direct claim mechanism; and (h) Provide technical financial and actuarial services in the medico-legal claims.
