Technical assistance in support of trade and development in Mozambique
The overall objective of the programme ‘Supporting Trade and Development in Mozambique — PROMOVE
Comércio’ - financed from both national and regional 11th EDF allocations — is to improve trade and the
business environment. It consists out of three components:
1) Implementation of Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and World Trade Organisation ́s (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) trade facilitation reforms;
2) Improved market-driven Quality Infrastructure and services; and
3) EPA outreach and awareness raising to various stakeholders.
The present contract will implement actions only in components 1 and 3, coordinating continuously with UNIDO,
who is responsible for the implementation of component 2 and who has started activities on 1 March 2020.
Maputo
Technical assistance to:
(1) improve Government’s capacity to coordinate and implement the EU-Southern African Development Community (SADC) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and World Trade Organization (WTO) trade facilitation reforms in Mozambique; and
(2) enhance EPA outreach and improve EPA awareness among various stakeholders such as private sector, business associations and non-state actors.
