The Supply and Commissioning of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Equipment for Use in Donation after Circulatory Death
The contracting authority, in the first instance, intends to establish a contract for the supply and commissioning of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation equipment for use in donation after circulatory death. Initially, the successful tenderer will be required to supply and commission the required equipment. Following the expiry of a warranty period of 12 months’ duration, a support and maintenance contract of 4 years’ duration will be awarded. The contracting authority reserves the right, upon the expiry of this support and maintenance contract, to award subsequent contracts governing the support and maintenance of the equipment, each of 12 months in duration, until the obsolescence of the tendered equipment.

On the grounds of urgency, and in accordance with Article 27.3 of Directive 2014/24/EU, the contracting authority is availing of shortened timescales in respect of this competition. The urgency associated with this requirement arises from the fact that the required equipment will be used in an acute hospital setting. On grounds of patient care, time is of the essence in respect of this competition.
